Position Title: Child Survival and Development Specialist, NOD

Contract Type: Fixed Term
Duration: Two years
Location: Enugu

UNICEF Nigeria seeks the services of an experienced Child Survival and Development Manager who will be responsible for the development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the child survival and development projects/programme in its Enugu Field Office. The incumbent will also be a team leader for this sector in the field office. 

Minimum Qualification & Competencies: -
  1. Advanced degree in one of the disciplines relevant to the following areas: Medicine, Public Health, Health Policy and Management, or related technical field.
  2. Eight years of relevant professional work experience in programme planning, management, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation, in child survival and development activities. Experience in the specific priority area of CSD applicable to Enugu field office will be an asset. Experience working in the UN or other international development organization an asset. Background/familiarity with Emergency and gender mainstreaming.
  3. Fluency in English and a second UN working language. A good knowledge of local working language of the duty station an asset.
  4. Current knowledge of the latest developments and technology, in the field.
  5. Proven ability to conceptualize, develop, plan and manage programmes, as well as to impart knowledge and teach skills.
  6. Leadership, teamwork abilities, managerial and supervisory skills.
  7. Good analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills.
  8. Ability to make timely and quality judgments and decisions, maturity and cultural sensitivity.
  9. Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outside the organization.
  10. Initiative, passion and commitment to UNICEF’s mission and professional values.
