Education/Experience/Skills and Special Requirements
Four-year degree with courses in business, risk management and insurance, finance, accounting, an M.B.A. degree may be added advantage.
Five to eight years experience in risk management or insurance
Excellent communication skills and organizational skills; strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Industry certification such as Associate in Risk Management or any relevant certification and training.
Key responsibilities:
Planning, designing and implementing an overall risk management process for the bank by developing operating models;
Managing the process of analysing upside and downside risks as well as identifying, describing and estimating the quantitative and qualitative risks affecting the business;
Risk evaluation which involves comparing estimated risks with risk criteria established by the bank such as costs, legal requirements and environmental factors;
Risk reporting in an appropriate way for different audiences, to business heads to ensure they are aware of risks relevant to their parts of the business and to individuals to understand their accountability for individual risks;
Corporate governance involving external risk reporting to stakeholders;
Risk treatment by selecting and implementing measures to control and mitigate risks including activities to avoid risks, transfer risks and finance risks;
