Nigeria Union of Teachers is generally called “NUT”. Founded in July 1931 by the amalgamation of the first 2 teachers Associations in Nigeria, namely, Lagos Union of Teachers (LUT), formed in nineteen twenty five with its founding President as Rev. Canhon J.O. Lucas and the Association of Headmasters of Ijebu Schools (AHIS), led by Rev. I.O. Ransome Kuti, formed in nineteen twenty six. At an inaugural meeting of the 2 groups held at CMS Grammar School, Lagos on 8th and 9th July, nineteen thirty one, a Constitution was drafted and ratified and the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) was officially launched after accommodating other Teachers’ Associations from Agege, Ibadan and Abeokuta.

1.) State Secretary

Qualifications

Candidates must possess at least a good University degree in Education, the Arts or Social Sciences with a minimum of five (5) years post qualification teaching experience. Copied: hotnigerianjobs.com-

Candidates must not be earning higher than salary grade level 10 presently

2.) Assistant Secretary

Qualification:

Candidates must possess at least a good University degree in Education, the Arts or Social Sciences with a minimum of three (3) years post qualification teaching experience, and must not be earning higher than salary grade level 09 presently.

3.) Cooperative Officer

Qualifications

Candidates must possess a good University degree or Higher National Diploma in Co-operative Studies and/or Community (Social) Development.

4.) Executive Officer (Accounts)

Qualification

Candidates must possess NCE, OND or HND Certificate or University degree in the relevant disciplines.
Adequate experience in relevant areas will be an added advantage.

5.) Executive Officer (Computer Operator)

Qualification

Candidates must possess NCE, OND or HND Certificate or University degree in the relevant disciplines.
Adequate experience in relevant areas will be an added advantage.

6.) Confidential Secretary

Qualification

Candidates must possess a good degree or Higher National Diploma in Accountancy with a minimum of three (3) years post qualification experience, and must not be earning higher than salary grade level 09 presently.

Mandate

Candidates are advised to apply for not more than one position. Multiple applications will lead to outright disqualification.

Age Limit

Candidates applying for any of the positions must not be above forty (40) years of age. Evidence of birth certificate must be attached.

Condition of Service
