Air Energi, a world leading operator has a requirement for a Topside HSE Lead (Job Reference: Req//020532) for a long term contract (52 weeks) in Nigeria. They require an Engineer that can work from their central office in Lagos where the design of this project is being worked from.
Job summary
- The HSSE topsides team leader is an integral member of the multi discipline Site Engineering Team. The Site Engineering Team is responsible for the engineering interface between the Company and the Contractor.
- The team is responsible for ensuring schedules are maintained, resolution of engineering site queries, coordinating resolution of engineering procurement issues, support of systems completion and turnover activities, etc.
- The HSSE team Leader is responsible for working with the HSE Manager to coordinate the activities associated with all elements of HSSE for the topsides delivery team.
- The HSSE topsides team lead shall become fully aware of the Site schedule, Site activities and Project goals.
- He/she will establish and maintain a good working relationship and communication with other site team members, advise areas of concern and take an active role in implementation of necessary actions.
- As a member of the site team, the HSSE Topsides team lead will foster and maintain the team approach and take an active role in the health, safety and welfare of all.
Requirements:
BS in Engineering or Advanced Science degree.
Minimum fifteen years in Technical Safety Engineering in an Oil and Gas offshore and projects environment in an HSE Case regulatory or corporate environment. At least 20 years total Oil and Gas industry experience.
Skilled in Process Safety Management and Technical Safety Engineering in offshore applications
Facilitate technical discussions/risk-based decision making
Willingness to travel
Skilled in technical safety risk assessment tools such as HAZID, HAZOP, physical effects modeling and Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA)
Working knowledge of HSSE industry codes and standards (for example ISO and API) and their application in the oil and gas industry.
Working knowledge of HSE risk decision making and documenting arguments for selected course of action
