REQUIREMENTS & ROLE SUMMARY
HEAD, INSPECTORATE, REGULATORY & COMPLIANCE
Position Summary: The position holder will reporting to the Director General, the successful candidate will oversee the development of the process for monitoring and inspection of industry operators in generation and transmission to ensure compliance with established standards, guidelines and regulations, as well as the terms and conditions of their license. He/she will propose improvement initiatives on the Commission’s inspection techniques, training of inspection personnel and development of uniform standards of inspection.
Requirements: A good first degree or its equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Public Administration, Law or any related field. An MBA will be an advantage. A minimum of 12 years’ experience in management and administrative position, at least 7years experience at Senior Management level, and 24 years in service.
REGULATORY
Position Summary: The position holder will reporting to the Head, Regulatory, the successful candidate will ensure that external operators’ services comply with regulatory standards. He will also develop compliance monitoring strategy to ensure that internal and external operators comply with regulatory standards. The candidate will provide support to external operators to ensure understanding of standards and help with implementation of corrective actions.
Requirements: A good first degree or its equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Public Administration, Law or other related fields. A minimum of 10 years' post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years' relevant professional experience
HEAD, INSPECTORATE
Position Summary: The position holder will reporting to the Head, Regulatory, the successful candidate will ensure effective monitoring and inspection of private and public operators, monitor the selection of companies for outsourcing services and participate in the design of operational standards and guidelines.
Requirements: A bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Information Technology, Public Administration, Business Administration or other related fields. A minimum of 16 years' post-qualification experience, 8 years' of which must have been in senior management positions in a similar organisation.
HEAD, REGULATORY
Position Summary: The position holder will reporting to the Head, Inspectorate, Regulatory & Compliance, the successful candidate will have direct oversight of the operations of the unit to ensure that operational results are met. A major focus will be to oversee the effective monitoring and inspection of industry operators, as well as provide support to external operators to ensure understanding of established standards of operation. Candidate will also participate in the selection of companies for outsourcing services, including establishing the technical requirements needed, operational standards and guidelines.
Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Public Administration, Law or other related fields. A minimum of 16 years' post-qualification experience, 8 years' of which must have been in senior management positions in a similar organisation.
HEAD, ENFORCEMENT AND COMPLIANCE
Position Summary: The position holder will reporting to the Head, Inspectorate, Regulatory & Compliance, the successful candidate will be responsible for strategy development for compliance monitoring. He/she will develop and deliver the compliance monitoring training programmes, and direct the implementation of compliance monitoring strategy, to ensure that external operators comply with regulatory standards. The candidate will also review the technical design and project monitoring plans of projects before regulatory approval and ensure enforcement of regulatory standard
Requirements: A bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Information Technology, Public Administration, Business Administration, Law or other related fields. An MBA will be an advantage.
