The experienced professionals and engineers Shell seeks will be expected to support daily equipment and facility maintenance, reliability and availability as well as production delivery onshore and offshore.

Shell Nigeria required a full time Senior Electrical Engineer Offshore (Power Generation) in Nigeria. The candidate must have 8 10 years work experience.

Skill & Experience
A professionally qualified Engineer with 8-10 years experience in oil & gas, process or power generation industry. Offshore experience will be an advantage.
Excellent practical knowledge of electrical engineering and maintenance especially Power Generation systems.
Good understanding of EP business.
Good knowledge in power generation and distribution up to 33kV, including diesel and turbo generators, UPS and hazardous Area classification for an oil and gas facility.

Roles and responsibilities
  • To provide specialist technical services in support of the Offshore Asset in terms of technical integrity, control and equipment breakdown analysis of all HV power generation and distribution equipment.
  • Develop, maintain and monitor procedures for electrical power generation, distribution and utilisation of electrical energy in offshore facilities without jeopardising the statutory requirements of the local authorities.
  • Carry out Power systems reliability studies.
  • Ensure availabilities of facilities through Physical Equipment Assessments and audits including Hardware Barrier Assessments.
  • Conduct failure investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Carry out Maintenance performance analysis and Computerised Maintenance Management System Master data review and supports.
  • Carry out Field Equipment performance monitoring, data collection/analysis of safety critical elements and FSR deviations reviews.
  • Initiate Management of Change proposal reviews for Electrical related modifications.
  • Maintain effective communications by exchange of ideas during project appraisal and development.
  • Optimise technical benefits on field equipment by enforcing SPDC standards and specifications.
  • Mentor and coach trainee engineers / technicians.
  • To support the identification and resolution of technical and electrical problems inherent in ageing hydrocarbon production systems and in new field developments, as a cost effective contribution to the achievement of Corporate Business objectives.
  • Support EOM's and project proposals to improve facilities/equipment across SPDC to safeguard the technical integrity.
  • Keep abreast of all statutory regulations, policies and strategies changes, as it affects maintenance execution / application of New Technologies.
  • Screen & certify eligible PM electrical persons as authorized electrical persons.
  • Develop & manage maintenance contracts to ensure optimum costs for electrical equipment upkeep activities.
