Lautech Part-time Application (Bachelor’s Degree Programmes in the Directorate of Part‐Time Programme)

Applications are hereby invited from qualified candidates into the Bachelor’s Degree Programmes in the Directorate of Part‐Time Programme of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (Lautech), Ogbomoso for the 2012/2013 Academic Session.

A. Bachelor’s Degree Programmes five (5) year Duration

1. B.Sc. Accounting
2. B.Sc. Transport Management
3. B.Sc. Computer Science and Engineering
4. B.Sc. Science Laboratory Technology
5. B.NSc Nursing

Admission Requirements for (1) and (2) above

Applicants must possess at least five (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings and the subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two other relevant subjects, Commerce may be acceptable in lieu of Economics for B.Sc. Accounting and Geography for Transport Management.

(3) B.Sc. Computer Science Admission requirements

Applicants must possess at least (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings and the subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

(4) B.Sc. Science Laboratory Technology Admission requirements

Candidates must possess at least Five (5) O level Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in WAEC / NECO, SSCE, GCE or their equivalent.

(5) Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNSc) Admission requirements

Applicants must possess at least five (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings and the subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. In addition, the candidate should possess the following:

• Registered Nurse Certificate (RN) OR
• Registered Nurse Certificate (RN) and Registered Midwife Certificate (RM) OR Registered Nurse Certificate plus RPN with at least two (2) years post-­‐registration experience.

B. Four (4) year duration

1. B.Sc. Accounting
2. B.Sc. Transport Management
3. B.Sc. Computer Science and Engineering
4. B.Sc. Science Laboratory Technology

Admission Requirements

Applicants must possess at least five (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings. Other ‘O’ Level requirements as stated in A above apply. In addition to the ‘O’ level qualification(s), candidates must have at least National Diploma with Upper Credit in relevant disciplines from a recognized Polytechnic.

(3)  B.Sc. Computer Science

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must possess at least five (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings other ‘O Level’ requirements as stated in (A iii) above. In addition to the ‘O’ level qualification(s), candidates must have:

a) Good passes at Advance Level GCE (or equivalent) in Pure Mathematics or Applied Mathematics or the Combined Pure Applied Mathematics and Physics; and any other subjects from the following: Chemistry, Biology, Economics and Geography.

b) National Diploma with Upper Credit in Computer Science or Computer Engineering/Technology and University Diploma of LAUTECH and any other relevant discipline from a recognized Polytechnic.

c) Passes in Intermediate Level of Computer Professionals (Registration) Council of Nigeria or any other recognized Professional Bodies.

d) Third Class Degree in a Science-­‐based discipline may also be considered for admission.

(4) B.Sc SCIENCE LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY (SLT)

In addition to A (iv) above candidates may be admitted for Four (4) year training leading to the award of B.Sc (SLT) in Science Laboratory Technology, if they possess any of the following: Ordinary National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology and other related Science-­‐based courses (Upper Credit), National Certificate of Education (NCE) in Biology/Chemistry Integrated Science, Health Education, Physics, and other related science-­‐based discipline (not lower than Credit).

C) Three (3) year duration

1. B.Sc. Accounting
2. B.Sc. Transport Management
3. B.Sc. Computer Science
4. B.Sc. Science Laboratory Technology

Admission requirements; for (1) and (2)

Applicants must possess at least Five (5) Credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings in ‘O’ level subject listed in A (1) and (2) above. Candidate must also posses the following;

• HND Upper Credit in relevant disciplines
• HND lower Credit plus relevant Professional Qualifications

Admission Requirements for (3)

Higher National Diploma (HND) from recognized Polytechnics with a minimum of Lower Credit in Computer Science or Computer Engineering/Technology or any other relevant disciplines may also be considered.

Passes in final level (equivalent of full membership) of Computer Professionals

(Registration) Council of Nigeria or any other recognized professional bodies.

Candidates in every category above must obtain Five (5) Credit passes at not more than two sittings in WAEC and or NECO as stated in A (iii).

Admission requirement for (4)

Higher National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology, Fisheries Technology, Animal Science, Health Technology and other Science-­‐based related discipline with at least Lower Credit. Professional Registration will be an added advantage.

Important Dates

• The Entrance Examination for the 2012/2013 Academic Session for Part-Time students would hold on Saturday, February 16, 2013.
• The screening Exercise for the successful candidates would hold on February 25 - 27, 2013.
• The resumption date for all the student is fixed for March 4, 2013.

How to apply?

a) Application forms will be available on-line.

Access to the on‐line facility for registration will depend on the payment of a non-­‐refundable fee of Ten Thousand naira (N10,000:00) only via the online LAUTECH INTERSWITCH Payment Platform. Applicants must supply a functional e-­‐mail address during the online payment.

b) Candidates are expected to register on the University website; www.lautech.edu.ng by completing and submitting the on-­‐line application form.

c) In completing the on-­‐line application form, candidates are required to upload a scanned passport photograph with white background showing ears, no cap and no glasses. The scanned passport photograph must be in JPEG (i.e. jpg) and must not be more than 20kb. On submission of the application form, candidates are to print out Referee Form and an Acknowledgement page, which will give them access to venue of the Entrance Examination.

Note: All Academic Programmes advertised are run on Part-­‐Time basis In LAUTECH

Main Campus, Ogbomoso and Mercy Land, Osogbo, i.e. on weekends only (Fridays, Saturdays and sometimes on Sunday) except BNSc Nursing that is run on daily basis for a specific period.
