Standard Chartered Bank has currently opened the job doors for the position of Head of HR Risk and Compliance Manager - Africa (Job ID: 364609) to Human Resources function. The successful candidate will be based out of Lagos, Nigeria and have a direct reporting relationship to the Regional Head of HR Service Delivery, MEPA.

Job Description
Candidate will be responsible for proactively managing governance and risk management for Africa. Oversee Risk Management and implementation of ORMA framework within the HR function in Africa. (UORM for the HR function). Assist in coordinating, facilitating and promoting understanding of Group / Local operational risk and in implementation and management of OR within the Unit. Work with respective teams in monitoring and closing off any risks identified as part of the regular internal checks. Provide regular performance metrics / dashboards on HR Risk Management to the top management. Keep abreast of changes in employment legislation and ensure that HR issues are handled in compliance with HR policies, employment legislation and other legislation relevant to HR management.

Head of HR Risk and Compliance Manager - Africa Key Roles & Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the relevant stakeholders across the Group (Compliance, Group HR Risk, Business, HRRMs, Specialists, etc) to set up, implement and monitor Group and country compliance requirements.
  • Oversee Risk Management and implementation of ORMA framework within the HR function across Africa.  (UORM for the HR function)
  • Assist in coordinating, facilitating and promoting understanding of Group / Local operational risk and in implementation and management of OR within the Unit
  • Work with respective teams in monitoring and closing off any risks identified as part of the regular internal checks.

The Head of HR Risk and Compliance Manager - Africa must have the followings qualifications & skills
  1. Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with a strong team approach.
  2. Ability to articulate an issue and suggest mitigation plans.
  3. Knowledge of SCB Risk Management Policies and processes.
  4. Understand HR processes
  5. Project management skills will be an added advantage.
  6. Ability to stand up for what is right and be able to have difficult conversations.
  7. Numerically literate
