Society for Family Health (SFH) has published an employment notification for experienced professional who wants to make career in SFH. Society for Family Health has required a Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP), reports to the Project Chief of Party.

Position Description:
Candidate will manage the day-today operations of the project, ensure achievement of project deliverables, and manage project reporting. The job holder will serve as the project gender champion, and will also be responsible for project documentation on best practices and lessons learned. The DCOP will co-supervise State Programme prevention teams, and working within other related SFH HQ collegiate system, deliver high level technical, institutional and mentoring support to the regional USAID SHiPs for MARPS response to the HIV epidemic. In addition, the job holder will provide support to the COP in the management of operational budgets, and co-manage relationship with external partners from NACA, MDAs, networks and others. The successful candidate will ensure programme integration within the organisation and across implementing partners and wider stakeholders. You will support the management of resources towards ensuring value for money and enhancing accountability. The Deputy Chief of Party will also provide technical support to ensure standrd quality and value for skills transfer, training and mentorship within the Project.

  1. Candidate must possess a first degree in the Social/ Biological/Health or Medical Sciences, and have an MPH or other related post graduate degree. A certificate in Gender related studies is of added advantage.
  2. The job holder must have at least ten (10) years progressive experience in the public health or social development sector (of which at least 5 must have been in a senior management role) preferable in the areas of skills and knowledge transfer both at individual and organisational levels. Management experience in a USAID funded project will be of added advantage.
  3. Candidate must have proven experience working in similar organisation with in-depth understanding of project management tools such as logical frameworks, performance management systems and organisational development indicators.
  4. You have in-depth experience in developing, requesting and using technical assistance and other capacity building tools to catalyse problem solving within an institutional setting.
  5. Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, training and report writing skills are very important to this position.
