Etisalat Nigeria is recruiting to the position of Graduate Trainee - Geek Force for its location Lagos in Nigeria to retail department.

Job Function
As Retail, we are the face of the Etisalat Brand. We offer our numerous customers the WOW experience, using our Experience Centres as touch points. At Retail, we are responsible for customer query resolution, response to customer’s enquiries and sale of Etisalat’s products and services. We are also home to the Etisalat Geek Force - a unique service offering, with a single mandate of making the communication lives of our esteemed customers hitch-free via consultative before- and after-sales services on all types and models of communication devices (Phones, Laptops, and Tablets etc).

  • During the contest, you will define, develop and design various plans that will impact on Etisalat’s business objectives. You will reinforce the brand pillars and strengths.
  • You will be required to strategize on the positioning of programmes to address the needs of the target market of smartphone users as well as the youth segment.

  • You will collaborate with the Devices team and Original Equipment Manufacturers (e.g Samsung, Blackberry etc.)
  • After the contest, as a Geek Trainee, you will deliver service and support to customers by assisting with the activation and configuration of mobile devices and applications; you will educate customers through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone to help set up devices or resolve issues.
Principal Functions
  • Support the planning and designing of microwave links in assigned region
  • Assist in generating transmission link budget for site rollout in assigned region
  • Provide support in the planning and designing of microwave metro SDH links for site rollout and upgrades in assigned region
  • Support the design of transmission links for site connectivity to ensure that sites in assigned region do not have high dependencies
  • Assist in the designing and planning of microwave last-mile links to support POI and MGW connection in assigned region
  • Provide inputs in the designing and planning of transmission links to support ABIS expansion and BTS site optimization in assigned region
  • Assist in the planning and designing of transmission links to support UMTS rollout in assigned region
  • Conduct line of sight (LoS) surveys for transmission links in assigned region
  • Generate work orders for the Implementation and Operations team
  • Keep abreast of global and local best practices with regard to transmission planning and designing
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge and databases of the companies existing access transmission infrastructure
Candidates must have the following Requirements, Experience, and Skills & Competencies:
  1. You must have minimum of a first degree required; preferably in IT, Engineering, Computer Science or any other relevant discipline requiring critical thought processes/ behaviors
  2. Ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:
  3. Familiarity and proficiency with Web 2.0 social networking and collaboration technologies, including the internet, social media sites, discussion boards, blogs, video sharing etc
  4. Familiarity with information technology and mobile technology, especially but not limited to: experience and knowledge of the major telephone brands and models prolific in the Nigerian market; knowledge and experience of mobile tablets and laptops within the market; a comfortable knowledge of the various mobile operating systems (OS); a healthy interest in device roadmaps
  5. Preference for working in teams within a fast paced environment but must also be self motivated
  6. An ability to use your initiative and think outside the box
  7. Ability to create and curate engaging social media content
  8. Good trouble shooting skills, desire to go above and beyond to solve queries and issues
  9. Ability and desire to take ownership of tasks and/or customer issues, seeing them through to completion
  10. A natural sense of pride taken in all elements of your work and appearance
  11. Relevant post-NYSC work experience is a plus
