Customer Services/Examinations Assistant at British Council Nigeria

The British Council Nigeria is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Customer Services/Examinations Assistant in Port Harcourt. The successful candidate will be report to the Centre Manager, Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

Purpose of role:
The job holder to support Examination Services in Nigeria in develpoing markets for and delivering Schools exams; to maintain them at the highest professional standards as set out in the British Council’s EQS (Examination Quality Standards), project outcomes, examinations boards and partners.

Accountabilities and responsibilities:
  • As Examinations/Customer Service Assistant the post holder will be line managed by the Port Harcourt Centre Manager.
  • Reliability: to ensure examinations are delivered securely according to board requirements
  • Quality: to deliver a high standard of customer service to our customers, schools and exams candidates. Performance is measured by our own Exams Quality Standards and the inspection visits from Cambridge International Exams and other examination boards.
  • Finance: all British Council standards for managing finances are met with relation to managing Purchase Orders, reconciling income, managing contracts and procurement.
  1. Knowledge of the education and qualification systems in the UK and Nigeria.
  2. Experience of administering examinations.
  3. Experience of managing/supervising a group of people to achieve a specific purpose.
  4. University degree in any subject.
  5. BTEC Examinations Administration Level 1.
  6. Completed secondary education to ‘A’ level standard or equivalent.
  7. Dealing with customers and enquiries in a service environment and providing service within quality standards.
  8. Working quickly and accurately to tight deadlines.
  9. Ability to use Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  10. Ability to read and write in English at C1/IELTS 7.0/CAE level.
