The Federal Ministry of Water Resources (FMWR), as the focal point of the Lake Chad Basin Commision (LCBC) matters in Nigeria, wishes to draw the attention of the general public to the underlisted position which haa been declared vacant by the Executive Secretariat of LCBC:

Position Title: Director of Human Resources
Location: N’Djamena - Republic of Chad
Duration: One (1) year renewable
Category: C3
Status: For nationals of LCBC member countries only

Under the authority of the Director General of Administration and Finance (DGAF), the Director of Human Resources is in charge of the following:
  • HR Planning and management
  • HR performance management
  • HR development and training
  • Management of salaries, compensations and other relevant HR payments.
Main activities
  • Implement best practices in terms of HR;
  • Supervise organizational succession planning and key performance indicators
  • Supervise staff annual evaluation and management
  • Supervise the preparation of in-house, on-the-job and off-the-job training
  • Monitor the implementation of approved development plans
  • Ensure compliance with collective agreements and Labour Law.
  1. The Applicant must hold a university higher diploma (HR Management, Business Science, Social Sciences).
  2. A sound experience in HR related fields
  3. A proven experience in leading multidisciplinary and multicultural team
  4. Good personal organization skills
  5. At least five (5) years in supervisory and management capacity at the international level.
  6. Excellent management and communication skills
  7. Polyvalent, excellent organisational skills, and leadership and management skills
  8. At least eight (8) years experience in HR field and financial management
  9. Fluency in one of the LCBC’s working languages, namely English or French, and a good command of the other language.
  10. Fluency in both two languages would be and an advantage.
