TTC Mobile Limited is currently recruiting to fill the positions of OFC (Optical Fiber Cable) Engineer, Web Designer, Microwave Transmission Planning & Performance Engineer, VoIP Engineer and Power Engineer. All position is based in Lagos, Nigeria.

RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS

1. OFC (Optical Fiber Cable) Engineer
  • Monitoring of OFC laying & termination, verification of MB’s, correction of As-built diagrams, issuance of Bills, OFC testing with OTDR and Power/Laser Source meter and PAT issuance
  • Optimization of backbone performance and losses by reducing extra cable joints
  • Power debugging, OSNR improvement and new software/hardware upgrades in order to meet capacity and quality requirements
  • Transmission support provisioning to IT, MW & BSS teams for Ethernet over SDH and re-routing of BTS sites
  • Introduction of metro fiber rings in cities and planning expansion of existing metro networks to cover future capacity requirements
  • Co-ordination with contractors and vendors for conducting PAT, fiber route surveys and smooth OAM activities of the network
  • First point of contact for NOC for all the equipment and Transmission Network related outages.
Requirements
  1. Minimum of 4 years of documented experience of work in OFC Transmission department in mobile networks. ( Preferably majority of the experience should be of Africa Telecom Industry).
  2. Business oriented and good interpersonal skills, preferably with experience from the consulting world
  3. Low level understanding of OFC & DWDM Theory & testing equipment features & usage in industry.
  4. Min education level required Bachelor degree in communication science or related discipline ( second class, Upper Division).
  5. Ability to work independently and to build up good customer relations.
  6. Generation of regular reports/ presentations for the management.
2. Web Designer
  • The Web Developer-Designer is responsible for the development and design of major and minor Web applications and components for internal and external Insurance system users.
  • The developer will design, develop, test and deliver web sites, applications and components. Enhancements and defect resolution will be required on an ongoing basis. Best practices and design methods will be utilized to insure the success of the projects.
  • The developer will have the ability to create web applications and components from the requirements stage, through design, through production deployment.
  • They will be required to have experience in graphics, layout, scripting, programming, as well as development involving compatibility and seamless integration with various technologies such as, but not limited to, Java and ColdFusion.
  • Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to learn quickly in various technical and creative environments, while delivering quality work by tight deadlines, are key attributes of this individual.
Requirements
  1. Some experience using the RUP methodology.
  2. Experience in developing websites and/or web applications. Minimum of 2 years of web design and development experience is required.
  3. Solid understanding of navigation and GUI for maximizing usability.
  4. Front-end and some back-end development experience. More important is the experience of seamless integration of front- to back-end functionality.
  5. Practical experience in development of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SQL, Perl, graphics creation with Photoshop, Illustrator, (Adobe Creative Suite), multimedia creation with Flash, ActionScript, (Macromedia Studio).
  6. Practical exposure and/or experience with some or all of the following: Java Server Pages and Java, XML, PHP, Oracle, MS SQL Server, ColdFusion Server, CFML, CFScript, IIS, Windows Server environments.
  7. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  8. Desire and willingness to work in a collaborative, innovative, flexible and team-oriented environment.
  9. B.Sc / BA university degree a plus but not required.
3. VoIP Engineer
  • The Voice Engineer will be responsible for end to end maintenance of the Voice system. This individual will ensure high availability of the Voice service.
  • He will ensure that interconnect links are up and maintain end user voice quality at levels that are at or above acceptable standards.
  • This individual will also train the service desk team to enable them provide second level support to customers.
  • He will ensure that call rates and interconnect rates are correct and up to date.
  • VOIP engineer must possess the skills and experience in SIP Server administration and management as well as must have competent experience in handling voice gateways and interconnects.
Requirements
  1. A good first degree in telecommunications, Computer Science, IT/Computer engineering or other related field with a minimum of 2nd class honours, Upper Division, from a reputable university

4. Microwave Transmission Planning & Performance Engineer
  • The successful candidate will play a key role in building the transmission network & maintaining its performance.
  • The Engineer must have excellent understanding of Microwave Radio transmission technology and especially IP Radio's.
  • She/He must have experience of end-end broadband transmission design topologies, Advance high-capacity Radio technologies, Capacity planning, IP networking, Microwave link budget and Interference calculations, techniques to counter the interference.
  • The Individual should have good experience of monitoring the Radio network / link performance and taking necessary measures to maintain it to its optimal levels.
  • Microwave Transmission Planning & Performance Engineer will work within the Network Project group in close liaison with Network Operations, Enterprise Sales and Operations Departments.
Requirements
  1. Minimum 5 year of documented experience of work in MW Transmission Planning/Implementation/Performance department in mobile networks. ( Preferably majority of the experience should be of Africa Telecom Industry)
  2. Min education level required Bachelor degree in communication science or related discipline with cumulative grading equal or greater than Second class Upper division ( 2-1)
  3. Hands On experience on MW Planning Tools (Pathloss, MapInfo)
  4. Handling of Multi-vendor Equipment Experience is an advantage
  5. Low level understanding of MW Radio Principles and Fiber Transmission Protocols
  6. Good knowledge of Networking and IP-Protocols, CCNA Level knowledge is a must
  7. Minimum 3 Years of Field Experience of Microwave links Installation & Maintenance.
  8. MS-Office skills
  9. Ability to work independently and to build up good team relations
  10. Self-motivated, flexible and capable to supervise teams in field and office.
5. Power Engineer
  • Ensure adequate supply of power to the head-office and to all equipment within the premises at all times.
  • Setup and manage the power infrastructure of the company including generators, ATS panel, inverters, rectifiers, UPSes etc. to guarantee maximum uptime of all devices been powered.
  • Manage all accessories external to the generator like fuel/water separator, fuel tank, fuel line system, fuel filters etc.
  • Manage all air-conditioning units of the company at the head office and all Swift managed cell sites.
  • Manage all lighting points of the company within the head office, branch offices and Swift managed cell sites.
  • Supervise all power installations at Swift managed cell sites and vendor managed sites.
  • Follow up with site vendors to ensure 99.9% uptime is achieved at all Swift Network sites or POPs.
  • Respond to all power related issues within and outside the company premises, troubleshoot and resolve them as appropriate.
  • Ensure regular maintenance is carried out on all power devices within the head-office, branch offices and Swift cell sites.
  • Maintain proper records of all devices, connections, loadings etc in the data centre. Keep neat designs and diagrams where necessary.
  • Liaise with all vendors to ensure quality product and service is delivered to the company at all times.
  • Maintain proper labeling of all power devices and terminations in the data centre and at cell sites.
  • Ensure the power house at the head-office is neat and conforms to electrical standards/regulations at all times.
  • Carry-out all such tasks as may be deemed fit by the Head of Network Operations.
Requirements:
  1. Must be a graduate of sciences with a minimum qualification of a 2:1 degree from a reputable university with at least 3 years cognate experience.
