QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE POSITIONS 


i). Professor (CONUASS 7)
Candidates should be holders of a Ph.D. Degree from recognized universities with at least Ten (10) years of teaching, research, and administrative experience in recognized universities. Candidates must possess demonstrable competence to provide academic leadership in his/her academic discipline. Candidates must also be specialists in advertised fields of study with evidence of scholarly publications in reputable local, national, and international learned journals, plus registration with relevant professional bodies where applicable.

ii). Reader/Associate Professor (CONUASS 6)
Candidates should possess the qualifications as stated for Professors but with at least eight (8) years teaching, research, and administrative experience in recognized universities. Candidates must have evidence of scholarly publications in reputable local, national, and international learned journals, plus registration with relevant professional bodies where applicable.

iii) Senior Lecturer (CONUASS 05)
Applicants must be authorities in the relevant field with a Ph.D. degree. Applicants must have had at least SIX (6) years of University full-time teaching and research experience with the ability to initiate and supervise research projects. Administrative experience will be an advantage. Successful applicants must be able to give academic and professional leadership in the field.

iv). Lecturer I (CONUASS 04):
Candidates must normally possess a Ph.D. degree in the relevant field or for the College of Health, a basic degree in Medicine (MB; BS), and Postgraduate Fellowship. Three years of post-doctoral teaching and research experience is required except for the College of Health Sciences.

v). Lecturer II (CONUASS 03):
A Ph.D. degree or MB; BS in the relevant field from a recognized institution. If Ph.D. Degree is in-view. the applicant must have teaching experience from a recognized institution.

vi). Assistant Lecturer (CONUASS 02):
Candidates must have a Bachelor and Master's degree in the relevant field from a recognized institution. Applicants must show evidence of registration for the Ph.D. Degree Programme.

NON-ACADEMIC STAFF

Please note that computer literacy and the NYSC discharge certificate/certificate of exemption are mandatory where applicable.

A. TECHNICAL STAFF (Departments of Anatomy, Physiology/Pharmacology, Medical Lab. Sciences & Mass Communication)

i. Technologist I (CONTISS 08):
Candidates must possess five (5) 0' Level Credits including English Language and Mathematics with an M.Sc/HND Degree. M.Tech /M.Eng.; NLSTS plus at least (4) years working experience. Technical Staff for Mass Communication must possess HND/BSC in Mass communication with expertise or certification in certain skills such as Photography, digital editing, lighting, media coverage, etc.

ii. Technologist II (CONTISS 07)
Candidates must possess five (5) O' Level Credits including English Language and Mathematics with B.Sc/HND in relevant discipline; NLSTS plus NYSC certificate. For Medical Lab. Sciences, the candidate should be an Associate Membership of the Institute of Medical Laboratory Technologist (AIMLT) of Nigeria or B. Sc. Degree in Medical Laboratory Science.

(B) REGISTRY


i. Principal Assistant Registrar (CONTISS 13)
Candidates should possess a good honors degree with at least Second Class (Lower Division) from a recognized University plus a minimum of twelve (12) years cognate experience in a University or an institution of comparable status; OR a good honors degree with at least Second Class (Lower Division) from a recognized University plus a Master degree in a relevant discipline and must have a minimum of nine (9) years cognate experience in a University or an Institution of comparable status, Membership of professional bodies will be an added advantage.

ii. Administrative Officer (CONTISS 07)
Candidates must possess at least five (5) 0' Level Credits including English Language with a minimum of pass in Mathematics and a University Degree from a recognized University. Must be computer literate.

(C) DIRECTORATE OF CORPORATE AFFAIRS


i. Information Officer I/ Public Relations Officer (CONTISS 08)
Candidates must possess SCE/GCE (O/L) or it's equivalent with at least five (5) credits pass including English Language and Mathematics, First Degree/HND in Mass Communication plus NYSC certificate and at least four (4) years cognate experience in media or related fields and Master's Degree. Must be computer literate.

(D) UNIVERSITY HEALTH SERVICES


i. Medical Officer (CONTISS 09)
Candidate must possess at least five (5) 0' Level Credits including English Language plus basic Medical or Dental qualification with provisional/professional registration (House Officers) or full Registration with the MDCN. Candidates must be computer literate.

ii. Staff Nurse/Midwife (CONTISS 07)
Candidate must possess at least five (5) Credit pass in relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics, plus registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) or BSC. in Nursing plus the registration certificate. Candidates must have NRN or SRN certificate plus registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and must be computer literate.

(E) BURSARY DEPARTMENT


i. Purchasing Officer CONTISS 07
Candidates must possess five (5) '0' Level Credits including English Language and Mathematics, plus a good University degree in Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, or any other relevant discipline from a recognized University with NYSC Certificate and at least 4 years post qualification cognate experience and must be Computer Literate.

(F) WORKS DEPARTMENT


i. Plumber Assistant (CONTISS 04)
Candidates must possess SSCE/GCE (O/L) or it's equivalent with at least five (5) credits in the relevant subjects including English Language plus OND in relevant course with Trade Test III and Certificate of Training in plumbing plus at last four (4) years working experience.

3. SALARIES

Salary scale is by Federal Government salary structure: CONSOLIDATED UNIVERSITY ACADEMIC SALARY SCALE (CONUASS) for academic staff and CONSOLIDATED TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS SALARY STRUCTURE (CONTISS) for non-academic staff.

4. OTHER CONDITIONS


i. The appointment is normally on probation which may be confirmed after two years of
satisfactory service. The post is pensionable.

ii. All applicants for academic positions and applicants for positions on CONTISS 05 - CONTISS 12 MUST
be computer literate.

iii. All applicants for positions on CONTISS 02 - CONTISS 05 MUST be able to communicate in English
Language.
