NALDA will Recruit 37000 Youth as Soil Doctors Nationwide

Nalda, in partnership with the Nigeria Institute of Soil Science (NISS), plans to train and involve 377,000 young people as soil therapists in 36 states, including FCT.

The long-term goal of the partnership is to include young Nigerians in the scientific approach to agriculture for better crop yields and food security across the country.

The essence of this engagement program is to create a pool of qualified Nigerian youth that will conduct soil testing, soil management, and extension services at very discounted rates for farmers across the country.

The program is targeted at young Nigerian graduates who have a background in agriculture or science, potential graduates should be passionate about Nigerian business and food security.

At the end of the 14-day training on soil testing, soil management, and extension services, NALDA will equip each graduate to practice with soil testing kits.

The general objective of this program is to train and equip young Nigerian graduates with skills in soil testing, soil management, and extension services.

The young physicians will assist the farmers in their soil assessment, soil nutrient identification, and protection of suitable fertilizers and crops for better yields.
